My Story

My story pic

Hi, I'm Susan.

I was born in South Korea and moved to California when I was two years old. I grew up with salt in my hair, a love for the ocean, and a deep appreciation for beautiful things. I spent my childhood outdoors—skateboarding, snowboarding, exploring nature, and collecting little treasures that made life feel magical.

But before all of that, I was simply a little girl who adored her dad.

My dad was my hero.

He was larger than life to me—a dreamer, an adventurer, and what I lovingly call a Korean cowboy. He taught me to work hard, stay curious, appreciate beauty, and believe that a beautiful life is made up of meaningful moments and the people we love.

The name TRIXIE was born during one of the most heartbreaking seasons of my life.

My fiancé, Justin, and I had been trying to grow our family and had gone through multiple fertility treatments and embryo transfers. During our final transfer, we allowed ourselves to hope again. Then, within that same week, I unexpectedly lost my dad, and we learned that the transfer had been unsuccessful.

My world stood still.

In the days that followed, I turned to art.

I digitally painted through my grief. I created through my heartbreak. Piece by piece, art became a way to hold onto hope and stay connected to the love I still carried for my dad.

What began as healing slowly became TRIXIE CHANG | Life Curated.

This brand is my love letter to him, to resilience, and to the belief that even after unimaginable loss, beautiful things can still grow.

Here you'll find art inspired by the ocean, adventure, manifestation, and the things that make life feel meaningful. Someday, you'll also find curated crystal editions and beautiful objects designed to help create a life that feels intentional and full of wonder.

This space is for the dreamers, the collectors, the romantics, and anyone learning to begin again.

And in so many ways, every piece I create is for the little girl who thought her dad hung the moon.
